An Israeli company has won a contract to build Turkey's first spy satellite, the mass circulation Turkish newspaper Milliyet reported Tuesday.
Israeli Aircraft Industries agreed a 274-million-dollar contract with the Turkish defense ministry last week, the daily said, adding that the Israeli company had almost halved its initial bid in a last-minute effort to win the work.
French company Alcatel had made a tender of 350 million dollars.
