Hizbullah leader Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah has rejected Israel's terms for a prisoner swap deal over the Israeli government's refusal to agree to the release of PLO activists, Samir Kuntar, Lebanon-based Al Mustaqbal reported Monday, citing sources close to the negotiations. The newspaper conveyed that in addition to Kuntar issue, Hizbullah has reservations regarding the proposed list of Arab detainees to be released by Israel.
According to the report, Nasrallah declared his rejection of the Israeli terms in the course of a meeting Sunday in Beirut with German intermediary Ernest Orlow.
But sources close to the negotiations were quoted as saying by Al Mustaqbal that the rejection by Hizbullah did not spell the collapse or failure of the proposed deal. The report said that Nasrallah was ready to give the German broker "one last chance" to hold another round of talks with Israeli officials. (Albawaba.com)
