Queen Noor Civil Aviation Technical College successfully concludes the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) conference 2010

Under the patronage of Prince Faisal Bin Al Hussein represented by Engineer Alaa Batayneh, Minister of Transport-Jordan, and in the presence of major local, regional and international representatives from the aviation field, the Queen Noor Civil Aviation Technical College recently announced the closure of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Conference 2010. The event was held at Le Royal Hotel in Amman in collaboration with Al Khuzama Technology and Marketing and the Holland Aviation Consultancy firm and gathered 21 aviation institutions from the region.

During the conference participants attended several informative sessions spearheaded by speakers from the Netherlands who talked about the European aviation safety policies, rules, regulations and innovative learning methods. Each session identified related topics for discussion and focused on the main pillars in the aviation safety policy and the harmonization with required trainings.

The conference also highlighted Jordan’s continuous quest towards applying the best international standards through the Jordanian Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission which announced its commencement of the required procedures to transfer from the present standards to become an official EASA member and implementer in 2010. The Jordanian Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission also declared the Queen Noor Civil Aviation Technical College as the first accreditation body for the European Aviation Safety standards (EASA) in the region.

 

From the Jordanian angle and on behalf of Hussein Dabbas, Captain Waleed Nazzal the vice president of Royal Jordanian, talked about air operator perspective. Mr. Bashir Abdel Hadi, Chief Executive Officer of Jordan Aircraft Maintenance, presented the MRO perspective and Dr. Mohammed Al Husban, Director Airworthiness Standards of the Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission of Jordan linked experiences for an effective implementation of the EASA rules and regulations.

Regulatory Commission in Jordan welcomed the guests and briefly introduced the objectives of the conference, giving the floor to Captain Mohammad Khawaldeh, Director General of the Queen Noor Civil Aviation Technical College.

Captain Khawaldeh commented: “Queen Noor Civil Aviation Technical College is proud to host the EASA conference for this year with the objective of promoting the highest safety standards in the world of aviation through innovative tools and methodologies.”

“The conference gathers the best aviation professionals in the region; and we are positive that upon the completion of this conference we will be able to achieve the desired outcomes of taking the aviation industry yet another step towards excellence.” Captain Khawaldeh added.

Captain Khawaldeh also thanked the conference’s main sponsors; Royal Jordanian the Platinum sponsor, Le Royal Amman the Gold sponsor and Air Libya the silver sponsor.

 

At the end of the conference, all participants were escorted to a tour at the premises of the Queen Noor Civil Aviation Technical College at Amman Marka Airport.

It is worth mentioning that Queen Noor Civil Aviation Technical College is a sister company to the Royal Jordanian Air Academy, Arab Wings, Gulf Wings and Global wings chaired by Mr. Mohammad Abu Ghazaleh.
