to promote practical benefits of using online platform dubai egovernment launches 'making life easier' campaign
Aims for 90 percent provision and 50 per cent adoption of online government services
Dubai eGovernment, a pioneering initiative in the region to provide online services, has announced that it has launched today (July 10, 2007) a massive advertising campaign covering all media outlets and publicity channels to promote its all-in-one online platform www.dubai.ae, which serves as a unified portal for all government services.
The move comes as Government departments in Dubai are accelerating their efforts to improve the level of electronic transformation, in line with the target set by H.H Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and the Ruler of Dubai, to provide 90 per cent of government services online and attain a utilisation rate of not less than 50 per cent.
Organized with the theme 'Making Life Easier,' the advertising campaign is designed to achieve the online service provision and utilisation targets, which will help Dubai’s citizens, residents and visitors save time and money, while also boosting the efficiency rate of the government agencies incorporated in the Web-based platform.
"Shifting the bulk of transactions and communications with the government to the online portal will bring great dividends both to the government and the public. It will save us an enormous amount of resources, such as extra paperwork, and eliminate unnecessary time wasting in processing government services. Dubai eGovernment is strongly committed to helping improve the government's performance and make it a global role model in efficiency and effectiveness," said Salem Khamis Al Shair, eServices Director, Dubai eGovernment.
The public can access the online platform for a variety of purposes, such as finding critical business information, prayer times and weather forecasts. The site also incorporates health card renewal and other health-related services, commercial and industrial information, trading data and licences, court-related documents and services, utility bill payments, land transactions, traffic fine payments, car registration and licence renewal, visa processing, tenancy issues, flight and hotel information and booking, and marriage applications.
"Whether it is a simple or difficult transaction, the online platform will speed up the process and ensure a much more efficient delivery of services. We have launched this awareness campaign so that everyone will be able to enjoy the advantages of using the Dubai eGovernment portal," added Al Shair.
Many government departments have adopted the www.dubai.ae website, which acts as a unified gate for government transactions by providing the public with easy access to hundreds of essential government services, as well as information for the economic and social spheres of the country.
