Princes Lalla Amina has recently presided over an official meeting of the Committee for Special Olympics. The meeting, held in Rabat, was mainly devoted to discuss last year's activities and to present the various sport events scheduled for 2005.
Princess Lalla was briefed about the achievements of Moroccan athletes in the regional, national and international level. The princes hailed the performance of the athletes in the Special Olympics, where they won 18 medals (9 gold, 7 silver and 2 bronze).
Aujourd'hui also reports that the princess requested that further activities will be held on the regional and national level and that a national youth conference will be organized, with delegates from various schools in the country, in order to discuss "the role of the Special Olympics in promoting sports of the mentally handicapped."
