The WETEX Organizing Committee is preparing to kick off the 11th Water Technology, Energy and Environment Exhibition 2009 – WETEX 2009. The show will be held, under the directives of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister, Ruler of Dubai and under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance and President of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from March 29 to 31, 2009.
Emphasizing the importance of the exhibition, H.E Saeed Mohammad Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA said: "With the rapid growth of electricity, water and related industries in the Middle East, we are always on the look out for new technologies and solutions. WETEX, the first of its kind show in the region, aims at tackling critical issues in Energy Conservation, Water & Electricity, including environmental protection and preservation.”
Different national and international companies from around the globe are participating in the show. The show has different sections for national companies, and numerous Pan Arab and International companies from more than 20 countries.
A number of ministries, municipalities, government departments and public service associations from countries like USA, Switzerland, China, Iran, KSA, France, Korea, Germany, India, Australia, UK, Jordan, Japan, Poland, Croatia, Norway, Oman, Austria, Italy and Netherland are participating in this exhibition. USA, European Union, India, Italy, China, Korea and Taiwan will be present via national pavilions.
On view will be products related to transmission and distribution of Water and Energy Products like Steam/Gas Turbines, Diesel/Power Generators, Boilers, Pollution Control, Overhead Transmission line equipments, Substations, Transformers, Switchgears, Cables, Instrumentation and Control Systems, Air Conditioning, Lighting fixtures, Firefighting systems, Lifts, Fans and Exhaust systems, Batteries, Chemicals, Lab and testing equipments, Metering systems, Irrigation systems, Pumps, Valves, Pipes, Water Network Systems, House pipe fittings and Connections, Sanitary/Drainage wares and accessories, Fibre Glass products, SCADA Systems, Leakage detection through Software and Hardware Technologies, Desalination Plants, Home appliances, Energy conservation as well as products related directly or indirectly to Environment, Recycling products, Solar and Wind energy products and Filters.
The Symposia and lectures on the sidelines of the exhibition will cover several critical issues in areas of water and electricity generations and conservation. The programs are designed to help visitors, engineers and technicians from various government and private sectors in the region update themselves on the latest techniques and developments.
Mr. Al Tayer stated that the response to the event reflects the prominent position of the UAE in general and Dubai in particular as a business hub. He lauded the response from the government sector and public associations that have shown interest in the exhibition’s theme. He said the exhibition represents a unique opportunity for showcasing products in the fields of water, energy and environment and promotes exchange of experiences and experiments and knowledge sharing.
The exhibition has attracted many sponsors. The number of main sponsors has touched 7, and the co-sponsors are 7, who are both local as well as international companies and establishments. The gross area of the exhibition is 15000 sqm, and the number of exhibitors, have reached more than 270 to date.
The exhibition provides an opportunity for decision makers in government departments to see the latest products, and meet directly with the companies, manufacturers, and agents from all over the world. The exhibition also forms an excellent venue for pioneer companies to promote their production in the field of water, electricity and environment and to present solutions for the problems that face development of these essential economy sectors in addition to the exhibition’s contribution in developing efficient strategies and modern technologies in managing water and electricity resources and conserving the environment.
