Palestinian international cooperation minister Nabil Shaath said Tuesday that Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat would not meet Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak in Paris on Wednesday, according to AFP.
He told the agency in a telephone call from Paris that Arafat would meet with both US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and French President Jacques Chirac "but there will not be a meeting with Barak."
Arafat’s aide, Nabil Abu Rdeineh, told Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) that Arafat would demand an end to Israel’s violations in the Palestinian territories and that he would ask for the formation of an international inquiry to investigate the “Israeli massacres.”
"It will be difficult to meet before Israeli forces withdraw, stop the aggression against the Palestinian people and before Israel forms an international committee (to investigate the violence)," Shaath added – (Several Sources)
