Palestinian sources said Tuesday that they expect more fierce attacks on Palestinian towns and villages after the Israeli security cabinet meets scheduled for 22:20 Tuesday local time, but was postponed because of a delay of Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak’s flight in London.
Monday witnessed the highest death toll among the Israelis in attacks by armed Palestinians who killed at least four Israelis, including two soldiers. The Israeli army retaliated by helicopter and tank attacks on different areas in the West Bank.
Meanwhile, thousands of Palestinians were taking part in a rally in Ramallah after a Palestinian boy was killed by a 500mm-bullet during the day.
Saber Khamis Brash was killed in the clashes that took place at the City Inn checkpoint in the adjacent town of Beireh.
Israeli soldiers shot and killed three other Palestinians Tuesday during violent confrontations in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
Mahmoud Mustafa, 50, was killed by Jewish settlers near Shilo settlement in the West Bank city of Nablus, Palestinian security sources told Albawaba.com.
A 13-year-old Palestinian boy Tuesday during clashes at the Karni crossing point between Israel and the Gaza Strip, hospital officials said.
Mohammed Al-Ajla died after he was shot in the head by soldiers at Karni.
Earlier Tuesday, Raed Shaqfa, 21, died after Israeli soldiers shot him in the stomach during clashes in Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip, hospital officials told the agency.
His death brings to 212 the number of Palestinians killed since violence broke out including 13 Palestinians living in Israel.
