A Palestinian taxi driver was seriously wounded on Tuesday after being stabbed in the chest by a Jewish passenger in east Jerusalem, Israeli police said.

The attack took place in a Jewish neighborhood in the northeast of the city.

The victim was taken to a Jerusalem hospital for treatment, a police spokesman told AFP.

Police are investigating the circumstances of the stabbing, but the attacker had not yet been apprehended.

Last year, there was a series of attacks, some of them fatal, against Palestinians in Jerusalem, which police suspected were the work of a Jewish militant – OCCUPIED JERUSALEM (AFP)
