A butcher from the Palestinian Balata refugee camp was shot dead due to his apparent refusal to close down his shop during a funeral procession.
A Fatah activist is suspected of killing the local butcher Saturday afternoon after the latter refused to close his shop as a funeral procession of another Fatah activist was taking place in the Balata refugee camp near Nablus.
Prior to the funeral march of the activist, who was fatally shot by Israeli forces two days ago, another Fatah activist asked a member of the well-known Tirawi family to close down his shop. The man reportedly refused to do so and a dispute emerged between the two sides. In the course of the argument, the Fatah activist fatally shot the butcher.
Currently, the Fatah group is trying to settle the crisis by exerting efforts to hand over the killer to the Palestinian Authority.
Meanwhile, also in Balata, Samer Abu Assb, aged 21, died of wounds he sustained by Israeli occupation troops in the refugee camp last week, Palestinian medical sources said Sunday.
Early Sunday, Israeli forces invaded A’idah and Doha refugee camps near the southern West Bank city of Bethlehem and detained at least ten Palestinians.
Also on Sunday, Palestinians marked the massacre that the Israeli terrorist Baruch Goldstein committed in the southern West Bank city of Hebron when he, armed with an automatic rifle, mowed down dozens of Muslim worshipers as they knelt in prayer at al-Haram al-Ibrahimi mosque before taking his own life.
