Since Daesh released a video earlier this month portraying the beheading of 21 Egyptian workers in Libya, over 25,000 Egyptians have fled the country, reported AFP.

Following the release of the video, the Egyptian air force carried out air strikes against Daesh positions in Libya and told Egyptian workers in the country to return to home.

Estimates suggest that hundreds of thousands of Egyptian nationals could be working in Libya, a number that has decreased since the 2011 uprising.
