Outstanding Nomination Response for the Middle East Business Achievement Awards

Leaders Presents announced today that the nominations and submissions period for the 2nd Annual Middle East Business Achievement Awards (MEBA), which run in partnership with Dubai Holding has ended. Nominations are no longer accepted.  The Awards have received an outstanding response with more than 150 nominations from across the region in over 10 categories.

A shortlist of candidates will be announced on the 1st of November, 2008 on MEBA website. Winners will be announced and honored at an elaborate Gala Dinner to be held on Sunday, November 16th, 2008 at the Intercontinental Hotel in Festival City, Dubai in association with Gulf Business. Judging will be based on the strength of submissions and according to key award criteria.

“The massive response to the MEBA awards function is a strong endorsement of the record number of achievements of regional businesses,” said Alan Kelly, Divisional Director, Leaders Presents. “We have received some really good submissions and it won’t be an easy task to narrow them down to 10 categories, but we are sure that the Awards judges will do a great job. The next step for the Awards judges is to gather in an undisclosed location prior to the award ceremony in order to vote on the winners.”

The event, which aims to recognise and reward outstanding success, innovation and ethics across the Middle East business spectrum, will offer participants a prestigious platform in which to network with over 800 regional industry leaders and government officials, as well as high-profile, keynote speakers from the Leaders in Dubai Business Forum, who will also present the awards that evening.

The judging panel is made up of internationally-recognised and respected judges from a variety of industry sectors and disciplines and is carefully chosen to ensure the selection process is fair and objective. This year’s panel includes Alan Patching of Alan Patching & Associates, Brett King, CEO International of the American Academy of Financial Management, Jennifer Harwood, Business Champion of Direct Incite Pty Ltd, Tim Walmsley, Regional Director of Impact Porter Novelli, and John Ford, Chief Executive Director of The One Center.

Nominations were accepted for 10 diverse categories: Marketing Strategy of the Year; Recommended Employer of the Year; Environmental Contribution of the Year; Corporate Social Responsibility Leader of the Year; Best Small Business of the Year; Best Family Business of the Year; Best New Company of the Year; Entrepreneur of the Year; and Businessman and Businesswoman of the Year.
