For the seventh consecutive year, Nuqul Group renewed its partnership with the University of Jordan to support the Faculty for Factory program which was founded to develop a practical model of cooperation between the local industries and universities granting the academic staff from various Jordanian universities the chance to conduct research and implement their projects.
The program reflects a successful model bridging the gap between academia and the actual work in factories resulting in the transfer of knowledge to the private sector and practical experience to faculty members in the fields of energy, quality optimization, time and motion studies among others. Till date seven of Nuqul Group’s factories were directly involved and the plan is to engage more participants in the coming year.
Nuqul Group’s Chief Operations Officer, Hasan Rimawi, said: “Our continuous support to the Faculty for Factory initiative exemplifies Nuqul Group’s belief in creating strong linkages between academia and private sector, this approach is definitely effective and the potential of expanding exists in collaboration with FFF’s team”.
“Our industry is advancing progressively and it requires regular cooperation with the academics to match theory with on the ground applications resolving challenges and improving efficiency. Our partnership reflected several successful models that were implemented in our factories, such as the diapers project in 2008 that resulted in automating several production lines increasing the production, enhancing efficiency and decreasing waste. It is worth mentioning that this project won the first award from the Ministry of Higher Education and scientific research / scientific research fund”. Rimawi added.
Dr. Yousef Al Abdullat commented on the partnership saying: “The Faculty for Factory program was designed to advance the academic field in Jordan through the support of industrial conglomerates. We believe that in order for us to witness considerable impact it is very vital to have loyal partners on board. Nuqul Group proved to be a devoted supporter and we hope for others to follow suit.”
