A new mobile veterinary clinic will serve shepherds that herd an estimated one million sheep and goats in the Northern Badia of Jordan, Jordan Times reported Wednesday.

The clinic, according to the paper, will serve the 35 villages in the Northern Badia served by the Jordan Badia Research and Development Program.

In addition to regular veterinary services, vaccination services will be available on request to treat or prevent diseases common to the badia region, including foot and mouth disease, brucellosis, sheep pox, goat pox, anthrax, entreotoxmia, and the plague, said the daily.

The unit also will serve as an early warning system for major problems or epidemics so that they can be reported to the Jordanian Ministry of Agriculture – Albawaba.com
