ALBAWABA - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, accompanied by his wife, Sara, left for the United States to participate in the General Assembly in New York and meet with US President Donald Trump at the White House in Washington.
The Israeli Broadcasting Authority announced Thursday that Netanyahu's plane avoided crossing European airspace, with the exception of Greece and Italy, during its flight to the United States.
It further added that Netanyahu's flight path was unusual, noting that it took the farthest southern route possible, with minimal overflight of European countries.
Before departing, Netanyahu said, "I am now heading with my wife to the UN General Assembly and to Washington. In the General Assembly, I will speak the truth, representing the citizens of Israel, the soldiers of the IDF, and Israel."
