Netanyahu denounces ICJ proceedings led by South Africa as hypocrisy

ALBAWABA- In a vehement reaction to today's first session at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) against Israel, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed strong disapproval. 

Netanyahu accused South Africa of hypocrisy, asserting that their condemnation echoed false narratives. 

Netanyahu questioned South Africa's stance during conflicts in Syria and Yemen, alleging indifference to the millions affected by violence perpetrated by Hamas allies.

In response to the accusations at the ICJ, Netanyahu framed the proceedings as a distortion of justice, claiming that Israel, while fighting terrorism, is wrongfully accused of genocide. He affirmed Israel's commitment to defending itself and securing its future.

Simultaneously, the Israeli Foreign Ministry labeled the ICJ proceedings as a perversion of justice and an embarrassment to human rights advocates. 

South Africa's legal team countered, emphasizing Israel's alleged impunity for genocidal acts and accusing Israel of deliberately causing a humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.

Israeli Minister of National Security, the right extremist, Itamar Ben Gvir, described South Africa’s lawsuit at the International Court of Justice as a theater of absurdities that the world joins against Israel.
