The National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD), The Number One Bank in the UAE, has installed 22 ATM machines on Yas Island in preparation for the 2010 FORMULA 1™ ETIHAD AIRWAYS ABU DHABI GRAND PRIX, to be held in Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi on 12, 13, and 14 November 2010.
The ATMs are designed in the shape of One NBAD Tower, the Bank's head office in Abu Dhabi and a city landmark, to enhance the level of consistent communications with customers.
NBAD is the Official Bank of the FORMULA 1 ETIHAD AIRWAYS ABU DHABI GRAND PRIX, one of the most anticipated events in the international sporting calendar.
For the convenience of residents and visitors to Yas Island, the Bank installed in the arena 10 ATMs, eight ATMs in the hotels, and four ATMs in Ferrari Park and Permanent Activities Tent on Yas Island.
"We designed the new ATMs in the shape of our head office to enhance the aesthetics in Yas Island and to reflect our forward-looking and technology-driven culture," said Ahmed Al-Naqbi, the Senior Manager of Channels and Electronic Banking Services at NBAD. "NBAD offers one of the most extensive ATM network in the country and being the exclusive bank to provide ATMs at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix cemented our identity as the most comprehensive bank in the country."
Spread all across Yas Island, the ATMs will provide easy access for race-goers as well as residents and visitors of Yas Island to perform a variety of transactions such as cash withdrawal, payment of bills, credit card payment, transfer of money, balance enquiry, request for statement, cheque book request, and the mobile money payment service, Arrow.
Yas Island will play an integral part in the development of Abu Dhabi as a leading international city with world class sporting and recreational facilities.
"As the Official Bank of the 2010 Formula 1™ Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and Founding Official Partner of Yas Marina Circuit, we are pleased to be working with our partners in making this event one of Abu Dhabi's most important and memorable moments," he added.
Formula 1™ race weekends are watched by millions of viewers globally, which enables NBAD to broaden its reach and visibility both locally and internationally.
Last year, the event was the third most watched in the world as 54 million viewers from around the globe tuned in to watch the race. It was one the top most watched races during the FORMULA 1 season.
"NBAD's branch and ATMs network covers all areas of the UAE, and we are planning to install more ATMs in Yas Island as well as other new developments to provide electronic banking services to the residents and visitors of Yas Island and neighboring suburbs". Al-Naqbi explained.
