Lebanese songstress Nawal Al Zughbi has officially declined to star opposite the Arab world’s Number one singer, Amro Diab. Nawal and Amro were scheduled to star in a musical film. According to ‘Al Ittihad’ daily, Zughbi apologized for refusing the offer citing various reasons, the most important one being that she believes acting is a double edged sword which could lead to disaster as well as to fame.

She added that she is not ready to risk the success she has achieved so far because of an unpredictable outcome of the move, especially since she has never tried acting.

Meanwhile, the film that was to join Zughbi and Diab would have been produced by Majdi Al Howari and directed by Tarek Al Iryan.

Nawal is currently on an extensive and hectic tour schedule.

The singer is currently negotiating with Algerian singer Mami, who recently shot to fame through a duet with International singer Sting for Desert Rose

The songstress and Mami will be performing their own duet, composed by Safi Butella. The singers will use their native languages. The video will be shot in Paris – Albawaba.com.
