 Piling and infrastructure-related work on Plot No C 13 completed
 NEC also awarded contract for City of Lights Plot No 3
 India’s top-notch construction company to expand regional presence

Navayuga Engineering (NEC), one of India’s leading construction companies and part of the Navayuga Group, has completed work for Plot No 13 of City of Lights, a waterfront project by Tamouh Investments, Abu Dhabi’s leading master-developer. NEC has now also been awarded the contract for undertaking work on Plot No 3 of City of Lights.

The scheduled construction on Plot No 13, including piling and other infrastructure-related work, has been completed in just over four months since ground-breaking in mid-June, this year. The timely completion of the work reiterates NEC’s track-record of on-schedule project execution. The Plot 13 project on Sector 3 in Al Reem Island comprises five towers and podium with single basement and car park.

Mr Antony David, General Manager, Navayuga Engineering Company Ltd (Abu Dhabi), said: “The on-schedule completion of the work on Plot No 13 of City of Lights, a spectacular waterfront project, reiterates NEC’s commitment to delivery and executing international best practices in our work. The timely execution of the project is being made possible by leveraging on our Navayuga Group’s expertise in infrastructure work and through our large pool of skilled workers and modern equipment.”

He added: “NEC has now been awarded a second contract for work on Plot No 3 C2. We are thankful to the master-developer for their trust in our capabilities to undertake the work in line with their requirements.”

More than 80 professionals and skilled workers including the project director, manager, site engineers, operators, riggers and other workers were part of the project.  Five piling rigs, three cranes and a vibro-hammer along with other accessory equipment were used including two wheel loaders and excavators.

NEC is focused on strong regional expansion and targets a turnover of AED800 million by the end of 2009, with plans to expand to Dubai and Oman within a year. To support its growth strategy, NEC has already mobilized manpower and machinery to the UAE including 22 heavy-duty rigs, 18 cranes and 15 Vibro Hammers.

NEC is currently focused on piling works and plans to diversify the business to include infrastructure related works such as flyovers, underpasses, and metro & marine works.

Incorporated in 1986 as a part of the Navayuga Group, the leaders in core infrastructure projects and foundation technologies, NEC is focused on pile foundations, diaphragm walls and marine structures like berths, wharves and jetties. NEC established its first overseas piling business branch in Qatar in 2006, and holds the record for executing piling works 30 days ahead of schedule for the Sports City.
