Nashwa Al Ruwaini honoured by ALHOSN University for her lifetime achievements in media and advancement of education

 Nashwa Al Ruwaini, Arab media personality and CEO and Board Member of Pyramedia, was honored for her lifetime achievements in media and education at a gala dinner Sunday night celebrating ALHOSN University’s 5th anniversary.

 

Held at the Beach Rotana Hotel in Abu Dhabi under the theme “5 Years: Promoting Excellence,” Nashwa was presented with an award for her achievements in media and support of educational initiatives by Vice Chancellor of ALHOSN University, Professor Abdul Rahim Sabouni. The event also honoured university employees who have significantly contributed to the achievements of ALHOSN’s goals in education.

 

“Education is one of the most important weapons a person can hold and I am extremely honored to have been a part of the anniversary dinner. I see this honour as a way to extend and strengthen the academic role media plays in society, this award instills in me a great responsibility to achieve more success as a media entrepreneur and advocate for education. ALHOSN University stands as a model for the success of universities in the UAE, congratulations on your tremendous accomplishments in the past five years,” said Nashwa in her speech to the attendees.

 

Nashwa has consistently supported educational initiatives and has opened the doors of Pyramedia through internships for students eager to gain insight into media production. By giving students valuable work experience, Nashwa hopes to encourage them to excel in the field of media and communications and promote their career development.

 

In her extensive career in the media, Nashwa has gained unparalleled experience in the various aspects of media services. From her start as the youngest news anchor on Qatar TV at the age of 16 to her establishment of over 35 landmark television shows for the Middle East Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) in London and the launch of her own media services company in 1998, Nashwa has unparalleled experience in the various aspects of media. The multi-talented media personality is also a regular speaker at high profile events and has spoken at the Muslims on Screen and Television (MOST) in LA, the Success forum in Dubai, and the 2008 and 2009 editions of the US Islamic Forum in Doha, Qatar. Recently, Nashwa has won the Feigenbaum Leadership Award for Women Leaders and was one of Forbes Arabia’s 50 Most Successful Businesswomen in 2009.

 

The gala dinner outlined ALHOSN's major achievements, such as partnerships with distinguished organizations such as the UAE Society of Engineers and the 7i Institute, expansion of national and international presence through active participation in high-profile events such as the Najah educational expo, GETEX Dubai, and the international conference organized by the Illinois Institute of Technology Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, and promotion of women's broader participation in technical fields through events such as the First Annual Women in Engineering Event in the UAE.
