A week and a half following an operation for a slipped disc, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak is to fly back to Cairo soon, the hospital where he has been staying said Tuesday.
The president came to the orthopaedic clinic in the southern German city of Munich on June 21 due to a back problem.
Chief doctor of the clinic, Michael Mayer, told DPA that Mubarak was to leave on Wednesday. The hospital said on Monday that the patient's recovery was "going well."
Meanwhile, German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder paid a special visit to the clinic on Wednesday to meet Mubarak.
Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer also paid a visit at the orthopaedic clinic to see Mubarak on Monday. (Albawaba.com)
