Following the great results achieved last year and the successful launch of the Middle East’s first nationwide 3G wireless network, MTC-Vodafone (Bahrain), the kingdom’s most innovative mobile operator, today announced its plan to expand its network capacity to accommodate more than 200,000 (two hundred thousand) customers. This new expansion plan reflects the company’s commitment to its customers and to the kingdom of Bahrain and gives the chance for more mobile users to migrate to the new era in mobile technology.
MTC-Vodafone (Bahrain) Network Technology dedicated team of engineers will be conducting this expansion with the help and collaboration of The Siemens Information and Communication Mobile Group (Siemens mobile) team.
"This investment in additional mobile network capacity reflects MTC-Vodafone's commitment to maintaining our position as the kingdom's most innovative and leading provider of mobile and wireless services. It spearheads the development and introduction of new services, including higher speeds and enhanced grades of service performance." said Ismail Fikree, Chief Technology Officer at MTC-Vodafone (Bahrain).
“We are going to conduct this expansion work on May 17 at around 2 a.m., and we are expecting a temporary interruption of 2 minutes between 2:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. Although we trust our customers’ patience and cooperation, we would like to ask them to bear with us and apologise in advance for any inconvenience this temporary interruption might cause,” added Fikree.
MTC-Vodafone (Bahrain) Network Technology engineers ensure that the technical tools of the network are properly in place and are kept running efficiently. The Network Technology dedicated engineers utilize a sophisticated monitoring and management system which allows them to quickly detect problems and sometimes even predict them before they occur.
