Moroccan Nourredine Semane, an engineer in the National Meteorology Department, won the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) award for young researchers, which is given to the young researchers for their outstanding scientific research work in the field of meteorology.
<i>Yabiladi</i> reports that Semane won this award for his article titled “A small ozone hole in stratosphere in the average latitudes of the northern hemisphere during winter 2000." Semane received another award for the same article given by the International Organization of Analysis, Research and of Formation, which is based in Washington, the United States.
