Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Leadership Development (MBRCLD) has announced that it has recently conducted a three-day workshop during which the participants of the Young Leaders level discussed the strategic objectives of Dubai Government and the leadership skills required to sustain the emirate's development initiatives. The first-day agenda focused on the personal challenges of the participants and their compatibility with the strategic objectives of Dubai Government as well as the skills and leadership patterns affecting the development process and how to use the appropriate ones depending on the situation.
On the second day, the participants conducted the Silt Density Index (SDI) test, which is based on the Relationship Awareness Theory aiming to identify the individuals’ different effects system, their leadership patterns, the ways that the patterns interact with each other and the classification symbols. Different leadership patterns were introduced to the participants in order to explain the obvious differences between the patterns, their interaction level in different circumstances, and the mechanism of identifying and classifying them according to the classification charts attached to the Silt Density Index.
The participants’ discussions and training sessions during the first and second days, which was recorded to facilitate review by the team members, aimed to identify and discuss the effective leadership skills of individuals, highlight successful development methods and analyze the negotiation paradigms and their impact on the process of negotiating.
The third day’s discussions featured the Change Leadership Model, which aimed to determine the mechanism and leadership skills necessary for individual management during the change process. The participants took part in practical exercises to figure out the different change stages and the best mechanism and leadership patterns to encourage individuals to take active and effective steps that could support the change process at every stage. The participants also took the standard MBTI tests, which focused on psychological preferences and perceptions related to the ways of obtaining information, decision-making process, organizing the individual’s personal life as well as ascertaining to what extent these views can be influenced by cultural patterns desired by the leader. The results of the MBTI tests showed that different environments push leaders to take different decisions and cause different results.
