Mobiserve, (www.mobiserveholding.com), a leader in turnkey telecommunication infrastructure solutions and engineering services, announced the successful completion of the region’s first mobile WiMAX network for the Dubai Metro. The project is the latest in a series of successful installations for Mobiserve in the Middle East.
The WiMAX network, installed on behalf of UAE operator du, provides commuters traveling the Dubai Metro, seamless Internet access on all Wi-Fi enabled devices. Commuters with smart phones, PDAs, and laptops, can enjoy uninterrupted broadband connectivity at station terminals and while traveling on metro cars at speeds up to 90km/hr. Mobiserve envisions the adoption of advanced connectivity technologies such as WiMAX for the transport industry will become increasingly prevalent in the region.

Other countries in the region can readily adopt similar WiMAX networks. Mobiserve’s completion of the WiMAX network included build out, installation, core switch installation, testing and optimization across over ground and underground metro sites including the world’s largest underground station, Union Square, and connected shopping malls such as the Mall of the Emirates, Deira City Centre, and Ibn Battuta Mall.
