H. E. Dr. Khalid Touqan, Minister of Education and Muhannad Al-Turk, General Manager of The Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Jordan introduced the new “Schools e-com” project today at Le Meridien hotel. ‘Schools e-com’ supports the drive lead by Their Majesties King Abdullah and Queen Rania to create a technological revolution in Jordan and to modernize the educational system.
The new ‘Schools e-com’ project is an extension of Coca-Cola’s existing ‘Schools.com’ project, which has equipped 15 IT Labs in public schools across the Kingdom, and which has received very positive feedback since its inception in 2001.
In partnership with the Ministry of Education, the new project aims to promote e-learning in Jordan and to further modernize the educational system. “Schools e-com” includes installation of Internet access in all schools; training sessions to teachers on EFL and E-math, and follow-up with teachers to ensure students received the training. Trainings sessions will be held by the Curricula Department within the Ministry of Education.
“School e-com” will be implemented in phases by geographical clusters, Al Baqa’ schools, Irbid schools, Zeinab and Al Bara’ schools, where 41 teachers are expected to be trained. The first cluster training was held in March and these are expected to continue throughout the year.

Such public-private partnerships are sought by His Majesty King Abdullah II” said Dr. Khalid Touqan, Jordan’s Minister of Education.
