MINI takes its top off

Third generation MINI Cabrio to make its debut at the North American Auto Show

MINI has announced plans to launch a new MINI Cabrio. The small car with a big attitude will make its world debut in January, 2009 at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. For MINI fans in the Middle East, this hotly anticipated rendition could not come soon enough.

With improved design and individual styling that is so typically MINI, the latest incarnation enjoys an even wider range of practical functions, design and colour variants. These include some of the most advanced technologies, even more powerful yet economic engines and optimised safety features.

Compared to its predecessor model, the new MINI Cabrio boasts a more refined exterior with beautifully chiselled body surfaces to give the new convertible an even more powerful and dynamic look.

“The driving pleasure of the new MINI Cabrio is not only limited to the thrill of open-air motoring. Power and eye-catching style equally match this unique driving experience. We are confident that the all-new MINI Cabrio will maintain MINI‘s leadership position in the small car segment of the market through its constant innovation, style and design,” said Phil Horton, Managing Director, BMW Group Middle East.

The new MINI Cabrio will enter the Middle East market with two 1.6 litre engine variants, the MINI Cooper Cabrio and the MINI Cooper S Cabrio. The latter offers a more intense and thrilling experience of performance than ever before with Twin Scroll turbocharger and direct gasoline injection. The MINI Cabrio is expected to arrive in the Middle East in April 2009.
