The Messe Frankfurt first five shows were opened yesterday by HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre. The shows taking place are Gardens, Landscaping and Outdoor Living, Hardware & Tools, Hometech, ISH Kitchen & Bathroom and Light Middle East. Exhibitors, which, this year are in excess of 795, are delighted by the quality of visitors passing through the shows.
Exhibiting at Hometech are first time exhibitors from the UAE Micro Automation Industries (MAI), who specialise in the fields of Total Power Protection and Industrial Automation. MAI provide a diverse range of cost-effective, microprocessor-based solutions to the consumer and industrial engineering industry. At Hometech, MAI have launched Powermatic, a device that ensures quality power to equipment within the home and the office. Hazin Al Hijaj said,” this is a great advancement for UAE nationals, who are not necessarily noted for their knowledge in the consumer electronics field.”
2006 is the second time that Zaid Al Hussain Landscaping have exhibited at the Garden, Landscaping and Outdoor Living Exhibition, the last time being 2004. Since 2004, Sultan Z Al Hussain, R& D Director has noticed incredible developments to the show. These improvements range from the quality of exhibitors to the international feel the show now really possesses. Sutlan Z Al Hussain Said” I would like to thank the organisers, Messe Frankfurt for the outstanding service we have received, they are truly professional. There is not one thing we could complain about; in fact everything has been perfect. We have had a lot of interest and have also made some great contacts. We see this exhibition as the perfect platform to perform great business.
Howard J Barnett, Joint Managing Director of P J Bridgeman from the UK, who for over twenty years they have been producing, designing and selling outdoor furniture throughout the UK and Europe, said, “our stand has been incredibly busy, there has been a great deal of positive interest in our furniture. One thing we are amazed at is the diverse selection of countries interested in our products from Russia, India and the GCC.”
Beefeater, Barbecue and Outdoor’s Managing Director David Willis commented “today has been a very active day with a good variety of leads from most the GCC countries. We have had a positive response form designers, stores such as Carrefour and Ikea - Kuwait and many garden centres.”
Exhibiting at ISH Kitchen & Bathroom are Kitchens & Beyond, the sole distributors within the UAE of the German brand Poggenpohl. One of the latest ranges, the Plus Modo, is on show. The range is extremely sophisticated, minimalist and chic; designed by Spanish designer Jorge Pensi. Philip Stark the infamous interior designer will be using this particular design in some of his projects and other ranges in the upcoming development the G Tower. Saber Rabi, Managing Director said’ “the show has been really successful for us so far. Before the event we had about 2 or 3 clients contemplating over orders, after visiting the show yesterday these orders have all been finalised. Through exhibiting at ISH Kitchen & Bathroom, we have also made some interesting international clients, whereas not exhibiting these would not have been made.”
Bilal Assidi, Marketing Manager of Martin Architectural, who are the main supporters of the Light Middle East Conference, said” Light Middle East, in comparison to other shows within the region, far exceeds all our expectations. We are extremely impressed by the content of the Light Conference, which has joined together the most important lighting designers from across the globe, which overall has aided in attracting the key figures within the lighting field.”
Exhibitors at Hardware & Tools 2006 Dewalt, Cooper Hand Tools, SMTCL and 3M Gulf Ltd are all very content exhibitors at this year’s show. Melanie Beese Exhibition Manager said “the overall response to the 2006 show has been very positive, especially with exhibitors making new international contacts.”
The second day of the first 5 May shows Gardens, Landscaping and Outdoor Living, Hardware & Tools, Hometech, ISH Kitchen & Bathroom and Light Middle East was a great success, and the organisers Messe Frankfurt are confident that the show will finish on a high tomorrow.
