ALBAWABA- A four-alarm fire erupted in the Elizabethport section, just south of Newark Airport, causing a massive blaze that shot fireballs into the air.

The incident started at approximately 5:30 a.m. on Trumbull Street, quickly spreading from building F6 to several others within the Elizabeth Industrial Park complex.

The fire posed challenges for firefighters due to dead fire hydrants at the site, necessitating the deployment of mutual aid firetrucks.

As the flames raged through historic industrial buildings, a collapse zone was established, and the FDNY dispatched a fireboat for additional support.

State DEP is monitoring air quality to prevent the spread of contaminants.

The complex, formerly home to the Singer Sewing Machine Company, houses various businesses, and the cause of the fire and potential injuries are yet to be determined.
