Mashreqbank appoints Country Manager of Bahrain

Mashreqbank has announced the appointment of Yousif Ahmed Al Essa as the Country Manager of Mashreqbank in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Al Essa will head the recently opened bank, located in the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce building in the capital city of Manama.

Al Essa joins Mashreqbank with 11 years experience in the banking industry. He comes to Mashreqbank from Citibank where he served as the Relationship Manager and which he has been part of since 1995. Al Essa holds an Associate Diploma in Computer Engineering and a B.Sc in Computer Science and Accounting and is an alumnus of the University of Bahrain. During his professional career he has participated in various banking events in London, Singapore & Bahrain.

AbdulAziz Al Ghurair, CEO, Mashreqbank said Al Essa joining the bank in Bahrain will be an added value to the bank’s expansion plans in a dynamic market like Bahrain.

Al Essa was also nominated to the Citigroup’s Chairman’s council in 2004 for delivering consistently in Investment Sales. Shortly after, he took over the management of the flagship branch of Citibank in Bahrain and turned it into one of the most reputed banking institutions in Bahrain with growing sales figures with excellent service quality.

In 1998, he was selected as the product champion for the Y2K project for operations based in Singapore. After a year he returned to join the front end sales as Relationship Manager in which he excelled as top performer in coming years.
