Mashreqbank achieves 6.4% rise in its Emaratisation from last year

Mashreqbank announced that it has witnessed an impressive 6.4 increase in the number of UAE National employment from last year to reach 28% of the total work staff.

“Mashreqbank is committed to recruiting greater numbers of Nationals at all levels within the bank,” said H. E. Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair, CEO – Mashreqbank. “Our mission is to introduce nationals into the world of banking and financial services industry in general. The success of our various initiatives and programs has been tremendous in helping to groom the graduates for taking on increasing responsibilities and senior positions within the banking industry.”

As part of its continuous efforts toward greater Emiratisation, Mashreqbank has planed its extensive participation program in different career fairs and universities to attract large number of UAE Nationals to join the bank.

Mashreqbank will be actively involved in the National Career Exhibition for Banking & Financial Services Sector at the Sharjah Expo Centre from 5 to 7 March 2007. It will also be participating in the 7th Annual Careers UAE Exhibition scheduled to take place at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre between 13th to 15th March 2007 as well as the Career fair in Al Ain to be held from 26th till the 28th March.

Shatha Al Meamari, Emaratisation Manager, Mashreqbank said: “One of our primary aims in participating in various career fairs is to expose the numerous career options available at Mashreqbank. When you are dealing with a banking corporation as large as Mashreqbank, employment opportunities flourish in departments like Human Resources, Administration, Marketing, sales etc. We require candidates with diverse skill sets and talents.”

Al Meamari said that the bank has a wide variety of different employment options to suit different individual circumstances.
As part of its employment policy Mashreqbank provides extensive theoretical training as well as hands-on work experience at the bank’s head office and 46 branches in all seven emirates.

“Whatever skill sets person has, with the right training and guidance there is almost certainly a suitable position for them in Mashreqbank.” concluded Al Meamari. “Our main focus is to recruit, train and groom our next generation of UAE executives.”

Aside from the career fairs, MashreqBank conducted special and dedicated visits to major universities and colleges; such as Zayed University, The American University of Sharjah, The American University of Dubai, Wollongong University and the HCT colleges. The purpose of these visits is to give students the right career advice and to head hunt for UAE talents still studying. The students are offered a chance with one of the specialized students training programs that will enable them to get an excellent career with MashreqBank in future.
