Manara Developments Sponsor NYIT Charity Event
Manara Developments, a Bahrain-based real estate development company, has become the Platinum Sponsors for the 2009 Charity Carnival organised by the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT), Bahrain. The charity event is being organised for the third consecutive year and all proceeds will be donated to the Diabetic Children’s Wing in the Salmaniya Hospital.
Manara’s decision to participate in this event was guided by the company’s ‘All Considered’ promise and deep-rooted sense of social responsibility. “The Manara staff are committed to benefiting the community which houses them” explains Kareem M. Shamma, CEO of Manara Developments. “At the end of the day, we all live and work in the same communities we develop and want to see them thrive; to a great extent, this sense of empathy is what drives us to develop socially-aware projects that are in keeping with their surroundings and take into consideration the needs and sensitivities of the local market.”
The theme for this year’s carnival is going to be ‘behinds the scenes’, and will provide a valuable educational experience for the NYIT students who are working in teams to present a variety of different ‘movie genres’ to the visitors and will be competing for the winning prize.
Kareem also went on to explain that “at Manara Developments, we firmly believe in giving back to the communities we develop in, just as much as we believe in creating value for the buyers of our projects. The sponsorship of the NYIT Charity Carnival 2009 is the first step of many planned initiatives for Manara Developments in Bahrain, and we are in the process of developing a sustainable corporate social responsibility programme which we will implement in the near future.”
