Leading printing solutions provider, Lexmark, recently participated and sponsored a major networking event that brought together senior executives from major consumer IT and digital retailers with purchasers from across the Middle East and Africa (MEA). The Digital Consumer Channel (DCC) held in at the Le Meridien Al Aqah Beach resort in Fujairah, and is designed to provide a conducive setting for high-level buyers from emerging markets in which to make productive contact with vendors.
Francois Feuillet, General Manager Lexmark Middle East, believes that the event provided the perfect opportunity to both network and pursues business. “DCC is an effective business platform spread over three days, held in the picturesque emirate of Fujairah,” he says. “It is an ideal environment to network and make useful business contacts with senior players in the IT retail industry,” he added.
DCC was launched in 2005 and was an immediate success, drawing support from major international vendors. The sold-event hosted 120 senior executives for MEA’s high volume consumer IT and digital retailers and attracted representatives from leading international corporations, such as; Philips, Sony, APC, ATI, AMD and Lexmark. “DCC has proved a great success and is now firmly established in the calendar as a major gathering for the region’s IT retail market,” says Mr. Feuillet. “We are very pleased at Lexmark to have taken on the role of platinum sponsor for this year’s event,” he added.
DCC 2007 has attracted the top consumer IT retailers from the MEA region. The company profiles of those attending cover the entire range of computing and software vendors and incorporate computer chain stores, electrical specialists, independent outlets and tax free shops. Among the range of products featured and promoted at the event include PCs and notebooks; system, office and utilities software; personal storage hardware; and digital audio, video and photo devices.
In addition to being a key sponsor for the event, Lexmark solutions have chosen DCC and launched three new wireless printers, which are aimed at capitalising on the burgeoning growth of the wireless peripherals market. The printers offer such advanced features as both sides printing and multi-option connectivity. “Lexmark Solutions are industry leaders in the home and mobile office printing sector and our new range of wireless printers have set a new industry standard for quality and ease of use. We saw the strong demand for these new products,” said Mr. Feuillet.
