Lebanon’s Ministry of Electricity and Water Resources began fixing a water network on Tuesday, the Daily Star reported Wednesday.
The damaged network has been blamed for contaminating water, poisoning 130 local resident in the Qaraoun area.
An official statement from the Lebanese ministry said that "illness caused by the pollution has been decreasing since Saturday. No new cases were reported on Monday and Tuesday.”
On Tuesday, the Health Ministry tested 20 water samples from the network and found the water pumped from the main source was pure, the paper reported. But again the pipes through which the water passed were damaged and contaminated the water, it said - Albawaba.com
