Israeli air strikes killed at least 11 people in northern Lebanon on Friday, medical sources said. They said Israeli planes struck an area near Lebanon's northern border with Syria.
Israeli jets also renewed attacks on Beirut's southern Dahiyeh suburb at daybreak Friday. Eight powerful blasts were heard in central Beirut within a span of 20 minutes.
Reports also said a bridge was attacked by the Israeli jets in the Akkar province in north of Lebanon.
Meanwhile, two Israeli soldiers were killed Thursday, one day after 15 Israeli troops were killed, as Israel and Hizbullah were involved in heavy clashes near the village of Marjayoun and neighboring Khiyam and Kila. An Israeli reservist died in fighting in south Lebanon overnight when anti-tank rockets hit a tank and a bulldozer in the village of Labuneh, Haaretz said.
Seven Israeli soldiers were wounded as the fighting continued on Friday. Two soldiers were hurt, one moderatley the other lightly, in the central region of southern Lebanon. Five other toops sustained light wounds after an explosive device detonated in the south Lebanon village of Kantara.
