The MEED forum, ‘Major New Investment & Project Opportunities in Jordan 2007’, has received tremendous response and the speaker-delegate line-up included the region’s top 20 names in real estate, finance and investment, plus key government figures.

Jordan’s Minister of Industry and Trade, His Excellency Salem Khazaaleh gave the opening address to corporate heads including Damac’s Peter Riddoch, Bonyan’s Abdulla Atatreh and Addax Investment Bank’s Yousef Al Essa.

According to the conference organiser and editorial director of MEED, Edmund O’Sullivan, Jordan is one of the region’s fastest growing economies and has a compelling investment package on offer.

“Investors are being attracted to Jordan due to the political stability and its progressive programme of private sector-led reform,” he said.

Al Essa agreed saying: “We are bullish about the future of the Jordanian economy. The Kingdom continues to develop a business environment that is conducive to investment return that is increasingly on par with international markets.”

“From the booming real estate and tourism markets to the extensive restructuring of the energy sector to the rapid redevelopment of the country’s infrastructure, this event provided updates on all the very latest opportunities in Jordan’s growing project market,” O’Sullivan added.

Aside from H.E. Salem Khazaaleh, speakers included Dr. Nader Mohamed, Managing Director – International, Emaar Properties and Abdullah Shahin, Vice President, Abraaj Capital, among others.
