An Iranian - American reporter jailed in Iran will be released Monday and allowed to leave Tehran immediately, her lawyer said after an appeals court suspended her eight-year prison term. The 32 year old Roxana Saberi was convicted a few weeks ago of spying for the U.S..

According to the AP, Iran's judiciary declared that the appeals court had reduced her jail sentence to a suspended two-year term, said one of her lawyers, Abdolsamad Khorramshahi.

Another lawyer, Saleh Nikbakht, said she is "entitled to leave Iran immediately."

Roxana Saberi was detained in February 2009. She worked as a freelance journalist who moved to Iran six years ago, and reported for NPR, the BBC, and other media outlets.

She grew up in Fargo, N.D., the daughter of Reza Saberi, who was born in Iran, and Akiko Saberi, who is from Japan.
