A delegation of 16 representatives from Hotelplan Switzerland, the second largest tour operator in the Swiss market, which offers a wide range of tours and commercial reservations responded enthusiastically with regards to promoting Dubai aggressively. This followed a presentation at the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing's (DTCM) Head Office in the Emirate on Tuesday, according to Emirates News Agency.

“This is a very encouraging sign shortly after the opening of our office in Zurich and vindicates our long-term approach to develop powerful ties across Europe”, DTCM Director General, Khalid A. bin Sulayem stated on Wednesday. He noted that there are currently 36 Swiss tour operators offering packages to Dubai and with 13 weekly flights between the Emirate and Zurich, business and tourist visits to the Emirate from Switzerland are certain to rise.

In the year 2000, Dubai's hotel establishments showed a 14% growth in Swiss guests. The travel trade delegation is currently in Dubai upon the invitation of Arabian Adventures, which organized a complete schedule for them covering the Emirates' diverse tourist attractions. The group was given an extensive briefing by DTCM Officer Missions, Faisal Al Suweidi. (Albawaba.com)
