McAfee Inc, the global leader in Intrusion Prevention and Security Risk Management, together with Smart Turnkey Solutions (STS) - McAfee’s partner in Kuwait - announced today the successful completion of the project tender for the Ministry of Education in Kuwait. McAfee’s leading ‘Foundstone’ solution was successfully implemented to enhance the Ministry’s network IT security capabilities and protect them against any vulnerabilities as they arise.
With an increase in the number of IT users within the organization combined with the growing risk of potential threats to their network system, the Ministry of Education understood the need for a proven, scalable solution to enhance their IT security.
As a result, a tender was issued by the Ministry of Education in Kuwait and was awarded to STS to implement a reliable Vulnerability Management and Remediation solution, McAfee’s Foundstone solution. The zero-maintenance, high-performance plug-n-play hardware appliances from McAfee’s ‘Foundstone’ solution are designed to protect a crucial network system and data from attacks, therefore suited perfectly to the needs of the Ministry’s IT network system.

A total of 6000 IP Addresses were required to be covered by the Vulnerability Management & Remediation system. STS implemented three Foundstone systems including in this project and these included Foundstone Primary Scan Engine, Foundstone DataBase and Secondary Scan Engine and Foundstone Enterprise Manager.

The Ministry of Education in Kuwait will experience a number of benefits post the implementation of McAfee’s Foundstone product as it is a solution that is scalable to their requirements and can be tailored to their vulnerability management strategy. With ‘Foundstone’ the Ministry will be able to monitor their security reports and check where the vulnerabilities in their network occurred, hence allowing them to protect their network system at all times.
