The king Abdulaziz marketing club visits Jeddah development project at the real estate exhibition
In continuation of its efforts to further build bridges of understanding and cooperation between the youth, the educational sector and the community, City Center Development Company invited the Marketing Club students at the King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah to attend a briefing session about the Jeddah Development Project and visit the Real Estate Exhibition where the Jeddah Central Development Project is being featured. A number of students from the marketing club in King Abdulaziz University were in attendance and were received by Eng. Ahmed Zaki Abdulaziz Kamel, XXX Urban Development Company, Eng. Omar Abdulaziz Balubaid, Deputy Managing Director of the Urban Development Company and Mr. Kareem Itani, Director of Marketing of CCDC.
Attending students were invited to attend a briefing session the company officials that included an overview about the project, featuring the Jeddah Development Project film and an open discussion with the students on the project and its integration and benefit to the local community. The students showed their interest in the development of the core of the business hub of Jeddah and its effect in the long run on the business, environmental and social aspects of the community. During the open discussion various points were raised including the type of job creation the project will provide, how many companies will be involved in the actual work to be implemented, from construction, landscaping, electrical, architectural, among others.
“The project is a long term project divided into key phases to insure all aspects of it are implemented according to the specifications and strategies set,” stated Eng. Omar. “This is opening the doors of discussion between the company and the future graduates to let them see first-hand the massive opportunities in various sectors they could be a part of at the same time witnessing the development of the heart of Jeddah.”
Commenting on the visit, students expressed their interest in the project and its goals especially concerning the area of job creation and opportunity creation in giving small and medium sized establishments the chance to work within the project as consultants and project developers. Upon completion of the open discussion the students were invited to visit the Jeddah Central Development Project booth and gain more insight of the mega project architectural models.
Commenting on the students visit Eng. Khaled Abdulghaffar CEO of City Center Development Company stated: “Our role today is not only to handle such mega projects and implement them, but to also bring in the future generation and share with them the future vision of our country. Today the students gained insight firsthand on how the development and enhancement of the infrastructure of a key business arena is expected to happen and how one day they can be a part of this unique project.”
Dedicated to redeveloping the central business hub and preserving the historic area, the project will be the largest city center urban project in the Arab world. In co-operation with the Jeddah Municipality, the vision is for the Jeddah Central District to once again become the heart of the city. The project will economically rejuvenate Jeddah Central District, create world class business, residential and retail facilities, revive the historical and cultural heritage of Jeddah, purify its marine environment and reunite the city with the sea. The end result will create job and housing opportunities for Jeddah’s young population, 60 percent of which is under 25.
