ALBAWABA - Riding a special armored pleasure train,  North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has departed for Russia for a summit with President Vladimir Putin.

According to the reports, Kim Jung Un appears to be on his way to North Korea's northeastern border on a special train inherited from his father, with the summit perhaps taking place as early as Tuesday or Wednesday.

According to reports, Kim Jung Un and Russian President Vladimir Putin will be discussing the idea of Pyongyang providing Moscow with an alarming array of weaponry to support Russia's efforts in the war on Ukraine.

President Vladimir Putin has called for stronger connections between Russia and North Korea, amid reports that he may meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in the coming days.

"I am confident that through our joint efforts, we will continue to strengthen... bilateral ties on all fronts," Putin wrote in a letter to Kim on Friday, according to AFP and North Korean media.

The statement came as North Korea marked the 75th anniversary of its founding with a parade in Pyongyang attended by Russian and Chinese officials.
