The Kia Champ into the Arena tournament continued its playoffs for the third week at the Bishop’s School football playgrounds located in Jabal Amman, where the games witnessed a huge number of audiences particularly since the competitions are getting more intense week after week.
During Friday’s games, Amin Shocair’s team was amongst the main players, and was qualified to next week’s games; whereby on Saturday, the main team was “Crowne Plaza” which managed to win against its opponent and therefore qualified to the next tournament. On the other hand, the Gendarmerie’s team performance was excellent and enthusiastic which also qualified them to move on to next week’s tournament.
Commenting on this championship, Mr. Nihad Zacharia, Vice Chairman of National Arab Motors Kia-Jordan said “We are glad to receive positive feedback on the tournament that has achieved a huge success so far. We are confident that the coming weeks will witness stronger and more exciting competition amongst the teams that are anxious to win this tournament.”
64 teams were qualified to the third week after holding more than 200 games that brought 260 teams and approximately 1560 players from various governorates in the Kingdom together. At the conclusion of the tournament, one team will qualify to represent Jordan at the Kia Global Quintuplet Tournament, which will bring the teams representing Kia’s dealers around the globe together in South Africa.
The Kia Champ into the Arena tournament is the largest 5 on 5 football tournament in Jordan, organized by National Arab Motors in cooperation with Jordan Football Association. The tournament presents participants with the opportunity to attend one of the games of the Quarter Finals of the South Africa 2010 World Cup and is organized in cooperation with Kia Motors Corporation, who is an official partner of the World Cup. Games will be held on Fridays and Saturdays of every week at 8:30 a.m. in the football playgrounds of the Bishop’s School in Jabal Amman. The tournament comes as part of a series of initiatives that Kia Motors Corporation is licensed by FIFA to organize in various parts of the globe in preparation for the 2010 World Cup.
