Award recognises Kanoo Machinery’s commitment to promote and enhance Perkins’ brand and provide exemplary service to customers
Kanoo Machinery announced that they have been awarded ‘Regional Distributor of the year 2008’ by Perkins Engines Co. Ltd. UK, having previously won the distinction in 2006 and 2007. Mr. Howard Beeken, Director EAME / CIS Distribution, Perkins presented the Perkins Power Award to Mr. Mishal Kanoo, Deputy Chairman of The Kanoo Group at a glittering ceremony held to celebrate the successful enduring partnership between the two companies at Grosvenor House, Dubai. The event themed ‘Strength in Partnership’ was attended by senior management of the two companies as well as their customers.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Beeken said, “In Kanoo there is trust, honesty and fairness in the way they do business. In Perkins, we have a commitment to integrity, excellence and teamwork. And it is these same factors, combined with the vision and leadership of the management team that established Kanoo as one of Perkins’ leading Distributors.”
Perkins is one of the world’s largest off highway diesel engine manufacturers. The company assesses annually the performance of its Global Distributor network in terms of their product support capability, business results and overall engagement in support of the franchise. “Kanoo Machinery won the recognition for the dedication shown in making investments in staff training and in the franchise in terms of tooling and facilities, to ensure that product support capability across the UAE is unsurpassed. Additionally, the launch of a number of marketing and brand initiatives have helped enhance the reach of Perkins brand and products,” Mr. Beeken added.
In his acceptance speech, Mr. Mishal Kanoo highlighted the fact that the partnership between the two companies goes back a long time and is a tribute to the values the two companies hold dear. 2010 will mark the fiftieth year of this cooperation between the two companies.
Mr. Kanoo said, “It is an honour to receive this award once again. We look at our suppliers as our partners and therefore, it is not only important for us to live upto our standards but also to their standards. We have to be able to take their products and deliver them to the standards expected by our partners, to our customers who are also our partners. It has to be win-win-win situation where all partners win. We are very happy with all the hard work put in by staff, who are part of the Kanoo family. To win this award, is one more feather in our cap.”

The function also saw the launch of a dedicated Kanoo Machinery website for Perkins business, which is informative, user-friendly and interactive. The website http://www.kanoomachinery.com/perkins will be used as a valuable tool to engage customers and provide them with a 24/7 platform to interact with Kanoo Machinery and also will help provide better services.
