Jotun, one of the world’s leading producers and suppliers of paints and coatings, has underlined its support for the Al Noor Training Centre for Children with Special Needs, with its initiative to design and paint the walls of the Centre’s primary multi-function room. In order to provide a colourful and safe environment for children with special needs, the leading manufacturer specially designed the ‘frescoe fiesta’ using its expert interior design team and also made a cash donation to its arts and crafts program to help the Centre in developing the students’ creative talents. Present at the recently inaugurated new facility were Trine Finnevolden, General Manager, Jotun Paints; and Ram Ramnath, General Manager, Jotun Powder Coatings, along with other Jotun employees.
Jotun has provided its premium quality paint brand - ‘Lady Essentials’ to the Centre due to its ‘children-friendly’ features - easy to clean, neutral scent and lasting colour. This unique interior decorative paint brand is a result of extensive research and development, and has been specially formulated to address customers’ aesthetic and safety requirements. Company officials also revealed that they are planning to launch several Corporate Responsibility projects this year across the region, as part of its heightened community relations campaign.
“We have been supporting Al Noor Training Centre for Children with Special Needs for the past 10 years, and this campaign holds particular relevance to us as an organisation as we are committed to utilising colours to positively affect and inspire people,” said Trine Finnevolden, General Manager, Jotun Paints. “We have always believed in the power of colours to evoke emotions and promote learning, and we are confident that this initiative will benefit all the children in the Centre. Jotun will continue to remain committed to helping the Centre provide children with an environment to learn and excel while tapping their various potentials.”
Established in 1981, the Al Noor Training Centre for Children with Special Needs is the first organisation of its kind in the Middle East, providing an extensive training program that includes therapy, work placement, computer and vocational training for children that face challenges such as Downs Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy and Autism. At present, there are two hundred and fifty children enrolled at the Centre. In addition to donating paints for the Centre’s needs, Jotun continues to sponsor events and programs during their annual ‘Fun Fair’ event.
“An artistically designed, well planned project, meticulously implemented and timely delivered. Jotun has created a colourful, bright and cheerful environment in the multifunction room for our children,” said Isphana Al Khatib, Director, Al Noor Training Centre for Children with Special Needs.
“Al Noor Training Centre for Children with Special Needs renders a remarkable service to society by providing educational and training opportunities for children with special needs. Our current collaboration with Al Noor on the ‘frescoe fiesta’ project, besides benefiting the children, has also been a wonderful experience for our interior decorators and painters who have interacted with the staff and children at the Centre. We feel happy to have created a colourful environment that will bring to the children a sense of fun and cheer, through our products,” concluded Ram Ramnath, General Manager, Jotun Powder Coatings.
