Jordan and Iraq have agreed to build an oil pipeline starting the first quarter of 2002, said Jordan’s Minister of Energy Wael Sabri.
The construction process, he noted, will take two years and occur in two phases, the Jordan Times cited him as saying.
The 750-kilometer pipeline is estimated to cost $325 million.
The treasury with cover the 150-kilometer stretch along the Jordanian territories whereas Iraq will cover the remainder, he added.
The pipeline's capacity is designed to reach 250,000 barrels a day, noted the minister.
