Jordan's Telecom company revealed Sunday its new logo, as part of new changes that will serve Jordanian customers in the field of telecommunications.
Minister of Telecommunications Hatem Zu’bi said at a ceremony held Sunday night to launch the company’s new logo and services, that Jordan’s telecommunications will be upgraded to serve large consumer sectors in the kingdom.
The company’s CEO Pierre Mattie, explained that the company's new mission is to provide residents and businessmen with the appropriate technologies for communication at affordable prices.
Shabib Ammari, the company’s chairman, pledged to offer clients with the best services.
"To express our pledges and promises, we have changed our identity," said Ammari in his speech.
"A kite, symbol of freedom and ease of use has been chosen to translate our new mission," he said.
According to the company's website, Ammari was quoted as saying in June that Jordan Telecom plans to invest $400 million over the next five years to upgrade the telecommunications infrastructure.
He added that the plans also "include improving the billing process, providing high-speed data access to boost the growing IT industry infrastructure as well as launching an Internet service."
Jordan Telecom was privatized in January, 2000, when France Telecom acquired a 40 percent stake in the state-run Jordan Telecommunications Company (JTC), whose monopoly over the strategic partner ends by 2004.
The company in the meantime provides different types of services to customers.
They are classified as basic, complementary and value added services.
The basic services include telex, Radio Telecommunication Services (RTC) and leased lines.
Caller ID, three-way calling and call waiting are among complementary services that are provided by the company.
The value added services have been introduced by the company at the beginning of this year. They include Integrated Service Digital Network (ISDN) as well as Home Country Direct (HCD) services – Albawaba.com
