Israel is incapable of hitting Hamas fighters in the Gaza Strip, and would resort to targeting large numbers of civilians instead in a potential conflict in an attempt to deal a blow to the resistance group, says a commentator.

“We can expect tens of thousands possibly of civilians to die [by Israeli fire] in order to inflict any blow against Hamas,” Robert Inlakesh, a political analyst, said on Sunday.

He also said the Israeli military was afraid of serious retaliation in case of hitting Hamas resistance fighters.

The Israeli military cannot hit Hamas fighters “because they’re scared of losses of their soldiers [and] they’re cowards, and they’re not capable of fighting Hamas on the ground,” Inlakesh said.

Israel and Gaza exchanged hundreds of missiles and rockets on Saturday, which was the biggest since the 2014 Israeli war on the impoverished sliver.
