After 75 years of creating beautiful fast cars, Jaguar has proven that it is still at the forefront of today's luxury car industry. The niche premium automotive manufacturer swept two of the top accolades at the prestigious Car Middle East Awards, held last night at the Westin Hotel. The Jaguar CX75 was proffered the 'Design and Technology' award whilst the all-new Jaguar XJ won the prize for the 'Executive Car of the Year'. The XJ also narrowly missed out on the Grand Prix of the evening, the 'Overall Car of the Year' award, ceding victory by one point to the Ferrari 458 Italia.

Since its official launch and regional debut at the Dubai International Motorshow in December last year, the all-new XJ has generated rave reviews from Jaguar customers, car enthusiasts and media. The all-new XJ, which underwent a complete redesign by Jaguar Design Director Ian Callum, has also garnered a string of awards including UK Top Gear's 'Luxury Car of the Year' and 'Best High Performance Luxury Car of the Year' by Automobile Middle East magazine. The Car Middle East Awards judging panel unanimously deemed it the best 'Executive Car of the Year', beating the Audi A8 and BMW 5-series.

Designed as a four-wheel drive range-extended electric two-seater supercar, the CX75 stunned industry pundits and car lovers when it was unveiled at this year's Paris Motorshow. Capable of reaching 330km/h and sprinting from 0-100km/h in just 3.4 seconds, the CX75 is powered by Four powerful 145kW (195bhp) electric motors and two state-of-the-art micro gas-turbines. The CX75 blew the judges away with its sleek avant-garde design and use of intelligent technology to delivery performance without compromise.

"The all-new Jaguar XJ has grabbed global attention since its launch earlier this year. This award from one of the most respected publications in the Middle East demonstrates the strong following and appreciation that the XJ enjoys in this region. This is a fantastic way to cap off our 75th year of creating cars that are both blisteringly fast and incredibly beautiful," commented Robin Colgan, Managing Director of Jaguar Land Rover MENA.
