The International Watch Company (IWC) has announced that its unique alliance with Mercedes-AMG is set to continue and will now extend to the racetrack. IWC will be giving away an Ingenieur AMG Chronograph watch every day to the fastest driver over the handling course during the AMG event at the Dubai Autodrome from December 6th to 10th.

“The Ingenieur AMG is the result of a long-term partnership, a statement of the mutual values that connect IWC and Mercedes-AMG as ‘engineer’s brands’ with a drive for perfection,” said IWC Brand Manager, Gianfranco D’Attis.

Both IWC and Mercedes AMG are known for their passion for the highest precision combined with a sense of understatement. Mercedes-AMG and IWC Schaffhausen each place great emphasis on precision engineering, high technology and craftsmanship, as guaranteed by products that meet the highest expectations in terms of quality.

The timepiece IWC Ingenieur Chronograph AMG worth AED 24,500 will be the coveted trophy for the fastest drivers on each day of the event totalling AED 122,500. As a special gesture for the sports media covering the event, IWC will be giving away an IWC Ingenieur Chronograph AMG to one lucky journalist at the event.

“Ingenieur Chronograph AMG” features a red stop hand. Like every “IWC Ingenieur”, these models are equipped with a robust high-precision movement, and their sophisticated waterproofing system means that they are waterproof to depths of up to 120 metres.

An American engineer from Boston named Florentine Ariosto Jones, established IWC in 1868. The company was one of the first watch manufacturers to recognize the potential of the new and increasingly fashionable wristwatch.

The special position of IWC is rooted not only in history, but also in geography. It remains the only watch factory in East Switzerland to this day. The IWC factory on the Rhine is situated far from the watch making centres of West Switzerland.

Leading impulses for the mechanical watch come from IWC. With its 390 employees, the company manufactures these sought-after pieces. Since the year 2000 IWC has belonged to the watch division of Richemont SA.
