Israeli police intend to shut down a study center where right-wing extremists frequently lecture, Haaretz reported in its weekend issue.
Rabbi Binyamin Kahane, the son of the late Kach leader Rabbi Meir Kahane, heads a group of former Kach activists, has received a letter signed by National Police Chief Yehuda Wilk telling him the police intend to close the Jaffa Street center where Kahane often appears, the paper said.
The police letter to Kahane was quoted by the daily as saying that the decision "is based on evidence and intelligence reports which seem to indicate the place is used for activities of the Kach movement, which was declared a terrorist organization in 1994." Some evidence apparently was seized when police raided the center in July - Albawaba.com
